_ To chase:                                 

Ex: I went after the thief and caught him.

3.    Go down

_ To sink:                                     

Ex: The ship went down after striking a rock.

_ To fall:                                      

Ex: The sun went down and the stars came out.

_ To reduce:                                

Ex: We hope that the cost of living will soon go down.

4.    Go for

_ To find:                                     

Ex: My mother fell ill, so I went for a doctor.

_ To explode:                               

Ex: Do not tough that bom, it might go off.

_ To start leaving:                        

Ex: They went off to Dalat, last Sunday.

_ To elope                                     

Ex: He has gone off with his lover.

Ex: They went through many hardship.

9.    Go up

_ To increase:                                

Ex: Everything has gone up except salaries.

_ To be destroyed:                        

Ex: The whole building went up in smoke.

10. Go with

_ To agree with:                            

Ex: I can’t go with you in that point.

_ To match:                                   

Ex: Brown shoes don’t go well with a black suit.
